The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra said Wednesday that it has successfully completed its campaign to raise $5 million to avoid a shutdown after they came up $2 million short for their budget last year.

President Obama and Pope Francis met for the first time today at Vatican City. The two plant to focus on their shared commitment to fighting poverty and growing income inequality, hoping to reset the previously strained relationship between the Obama administration and Catholic leadership. 

The International Monetary Fund has agreed to provide Ukraine with $18 billion in support as the country's new government reforms the economy. Kiev has been struggling since the ousting of their pro-Moscow president, resulting in Russia pulling $15 billion of support
