Crews will begin rebuilding the I-94/Highway 100 interchange, closing some access to the freeway today. The project includes new bridges, loop ramps and reconstructed railroad structures over I-94. Detour info can be found here.
The Milwaukee Public Museum as reached a deal with Discovery World to buy the former Discovery World Building adjacent to the museum. The Milwaukee Public Museum would turn the space into a new entry, with a bus loop for visiting students and space for unloading passengers, alleviating safety concerns with the museum's existing entrances.
United Steelworkers Local 2-232, which represents 395 employees at Briggs & Stratton in Milwaukee, voted to accept a four-year labor contract that includes 2% pay raises for three of the next four years. The contract was approved by a vote of 268 to 82. Briggs is the world's largest manufacturer of gasoline engines used in outdoor power equipment.
Syria has destroyed or rendered inoperable all of its declared chemical weapons production and mixing facilities, meeting the deadline of November 1st. The next deadline of the Russian-American brokered deal Syria must meet, is November 15th, when Syria must provide a detailed plan to destroy more than 1,000 metric tons of toxic agents and munitions.
