All this week, we are exploring the ways artitst have sampled iconic punk rockers, The Clash. This morning on the Seven O'Clock Sample we went back to the 1982 album COMBAT ROCK. It was released on 14 May 1982. In the United Kingdom, the album charted at number 2, spending 23 weeks in the UK charts and peaked at number 7 in the United States, spending 61 weeks on the chart. Combat Rock is the group's best-selling album, being certified 2x platinum in the United States.  The album's biggest hit "Should I Stay Or Should I Go" was released as a double A-side single with the song "Straight To Hell".

In 2007, Diplo sampled this track for M.I.A. and together they created her biggest hit, "Paper Planes".
