All this week on the Seven O'Clock Sample, we are breaking down the samples used in Massive Attack's debut album BLUE LINES. This album helped to define the Bristol trip-hop sound. This album has stood the test of time, and sounds just as good today, as it did in 1991. Our track selection today is the song "Lately".

This song utilizes a few good samples.  The first is Issac Haye's "Joy", which you will find at 0:44 of Massive Attack's song.

The main meldoy comes from the song "Mellow, Mellow, Right On" by Lowrell.
